Dracula
Dracula is a fictional character in the 1897 horror novel Dracula by Bram Stoker. After being bitten by a vampire bat, he is portrayed as a European nobleman who becomes one himself and seeks to destroy all other vampires. He moves from Transylvania to London, where he meets Jonathan Harker (and later Mina Murray), falls in love with her, and ultimately kills her when she becomes pregnant with his child.
Dracula’s character has been adapted numerous times into various media; the most influential adaptation was Francis Ford Coppola’s 1992 film starring Gary Oldman.[1]
Carrie
Carrie is a 1976 horror film based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name. The film was directed by Brian De Palma and stars Sissy Spacek as Carrie White, who has an innate ability to see the future and predict disasters. She uses this gift to help her family when they need it most but becomes increasingly distant from her best friend Margaret (Amy Irving). When Margaret discovers what Carrie can do and tries to convince her mother about their relationship, Mrs. White decides that it’s time for all three girls to move away from Port William, so they don’t get caught up in trouble again like before…
Breakfast at Tiffany’s
The Breakfast at Tiffany film is based on the book by Truman Capote. It took place in New York City in 1958 and centers around Holly Golightly (played by Audrey Hepburn), who works as a hostess at a nightclub called The Black Orchid. She meets George Peppard’s character, Richard Attenborough’s Paul Varjak, who lives in a hotel across the street from her job. They have an affair that eventually leads to marriage (and divorce).
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Rocky Horror Picture Show is about a man who goes to the doctor to get a sex change. The doctor tells him that he can’t do it because he is a man but then tells him that he should go ahead and do it anyway because if you don’t, everyone will think that there’s something wrong with him. The man then goes and has fun at his party while everyone else acts like they’re having fun, too—except for the one person who knows what’s happening.
The movie also stars Tim Curry as Frank N Furter and Susan Sarandon as Janet Weiss in one of her first significant roles!
Dirty Dancing
Kiss
The Catcher in the Rye
Holden Caulfield is a teenage boy who lives in New York City. The book is about his life, relationships with others, and societal views.
J.D. Salinger wrote the Catcher in the Rye in 1951. It was initially published as a short story, “big stinking shoe.” The book has sold over 100 million copies worldwide since publication, making it one of the most popular novels in history
The Princess Bride
The Princess Bride is a 1987 American romantic fantasy adventure film directed by Rob Reiner and starring Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Mandy Patinkin, Chris Sarandon, and Peter Falk.
In this quiz, you will be asked to identify some of the notable characters in the movie.
The Notebook
The Notebook is about a young couple who fall in love and get married, but their lives are not perfect. Their relationship is tested by everything from financial troubles to illness and death of loved ones; it’s not easy being together as long as you want.
The movie was released in 2004, so it’s been a while since I saw it last summer when everyone talked about how amazing they thought the ending was (and still do). If you have yet to see this, watch it! It’s definitely worth watching again, if only for the ending scene between Noah Calhoun and Allie Hamilton—you’ll understand why people love this movie so much when you see what happens after they kiss at sunset on their wedding day…
Jaws
Jaws is a 1975 American thriller film directed by Steven Spielberg and based on Peter Benchley’s 1974 novel of the same title. The screenplay is credited to Benchley, Carl Gottlieb, and Ken Levine.
The film tells the story of a sea-dwelling man-eating shark that terrorizes a vacationing beach community in Amity Island, Massachusetts.
The Sound of Music
The Sound of Music is a 1959 American romantic drama film based on the Broadway musical of the same name. Directed by Robert Wise, who had worked with Selznick on several films, it stars Julie Andrews as Maria von Trapp with Christopher Plummer as Captain Georg von Trapp. Robert C. Thompson and Howard Lindsay wrote the screenplay and served as executive producers along with David O. Selznick.
The film follows Maria’s search for happiness following her father’s death in World War II Austria, which leads her and her family to move from their village back home, where they serve as governesses for Baroness Elsa Schraeder (Ingrid Bergman) at Capellen Castle until she stops being able to work due to illness caused by motion sickness while traveling by boat downriver during an excursion through Austria’s wine country region near Salzburg where they meet up with other people such as Captain Von Trapp (Christopher Plummer), who helps them get supplies needed for his regiment stationed within nearby mountainside bunkers during wartime conditions…
